How to add testimonials to Squarespace

Squarespace doesn’t limit what you can embed. Use the built-in Code Block to paste a two-line Vouchnest snippet, or link to your hosted wall for a no-code solution. Either way, your testimonials stay up to date automatically.

This works in any Squarespace Code Block. Copy your space ID from your Vouchnest dashboard, replace YOUR_SPACE_ID, and paste both lines into the block. No plugins, no configuration files.

Code Block embed

  1. 1Open the Squarespace Editor for the page you want to edit.
  2. 2Click the '+' icon to add a new block and search for 'Code'.
  3. 3Select the 'Code' block — a settings panel will open on the left.
  4. 4Set the language to 'HTML' and paste the Vouchnest snippet into the text area.
  5. 5Click 'Apply' and resize the Code block to your desired height. The wall renders live on your published site.

Markdown Block

  1. 1Add a 'Markdown' block to your Squarespace page via the '+' menu.

  3. 3For the embedded widget, the Code block method is preferred since Markdown blocks don't execute raw HTML.

Squarespace Developer Mode

  1. 1Enable Developer Mode in your Squarespace site settings under 'Advanced'.
  2. 2Download your site template using SFTP or the Squarespace CLI.
  3. 3Open the template file (e.g., index.region or a specific page template) and locate where you want the wall.

Frequently asked questions

Can I embed video testimonials?+

Yes. Vouchnest supports video testimonials, and the Code Block embed will render them inline. Squarespace doesn't restrict video embeds inside Code blocks, so your video testimonials play directly on the page.

Will it slow down my site?+

No. The Vouchnest widget script loads asynchronously, meaning it won't block your Squarespace page from rendering. It's also lightweight — under 20 KB — and won't affect your Squarespace performance scores.

Does it work with all templates?+

Yes. Code Blocks work across all Squarespace templates (7.0, 7.1, and newer). The widget is responsive and adapts to any template's grid. If you're using a template with narrow content areas, just adjust the Code Block height setting.

Can I add star ratings?+

Absolutely. Vouchnest supports star ratings for each testimonial. They display automatically when you collect ratings alongside your testimonials. The widget includes stars in grid, carousel, and single-quote layouts.
